The Australian Footbike Association Inc (AFAI) is looking forward to hosting the 2016 Footbike World Championships. AFA logo

The World Championships will be held on the Gold Coast, Queensland from 8-10 July 2016.

It is the first time the event has been held outside of Europe, and it promises to attract hundreds of competitors from all corners of the globe.

The World Championships consists of four events across:

  • Three individual events – 400m Sprint, a 10km Criterium and a 40km Endurance, and
  • A three person team relay, using one footbike.

Footbiking is growing rapidly in popularity in Australia with more than 1800 Aussies taking up the sport. It is also gaining a lot of interest in New Zealand.

We can’t wait to share our homegrown passion for the sport, as well as our beautiful country with footbikers from around the world.
