“It’s a Wrap!”

 A huge heartfelt THANK YOU to all who travelled to Kick Down Under at the Gold Coast in Australia over the last few days. Here are some World Champions from our 2016 event.

Once we’d finished using the podium at the Sports Super Centre, a bird posed in “3rd place” before we loaded it back onto Jane’s ute along with some other equipment. Thanks to Qld Athletics who loaned us their podium when the proposed brand new one at the athletics track hadn’t been built yet!

   

And whilst the organisers and volunteers packed up the rest of the equipment, we hired the “beach” at the Sports Super Centre and invited one nation of kickers to challenge another in beach volleyball. Some also practised “leap-frogging”.

   

   

It was a nice way to “chillax” before getting into party mode!

   

One of our sponsors PinkWise decorated the dining tables with souvenir gifts that were especially enjoyed by our overseas friends: a set of drink coasters featuring aboriginal art. They are a useful and hopefully great reminder of a fabulous time in Australia.

   

At midnight the party was over but the new friendships formed will continue into the future. This chapter of the book is closed but the Footbiking Story will continue. There is much speculation about who will host the 2018 Footbike World Championships and many more Aussies will strive to attend for sure!
